Communities and publishing

I was feeling very confused about this module, while excited about it I am struggling a bit with how to articulate my interests within a community. I had a sudio tute with Georgina and I felt a lot better, she said that its ok to not know and I shouldnt limit myself to thinking about a community, and after speaking with her I realised that my most productive way forward would just be generating material and recording and then reflecting on what it is that I have collected to then see how the module fits in.

For the activity we did about DPM modifications, I thought it would be really nice to get rid of the middle walls in the studios and include windows between studios as a modular addition to encourage a more communal art making practice

liminal spaces

playing with the spaces in between

using silence , if I want to use film how do I get it to not overwhelm the sound.

writing stories and letters

do I address the letter to someone sending messages out into the world, how do I get messages back

how do these inbetween spaces connect, us. begin field recording and thinking about other spaces like the tunnels and drains that act as the spaces left behind, what other objects can elucidate the same effect?

begin sewing and see what comes from it, film and photograph and then see how I observe what I make

I took a video of a light in my room which is very faint, and the bulb is about to die. Visually I am drawn to the softness and blurry nature of it.

Maybe, following on from my conversation with Georgina, I begin recording conversations and then I can use the words and the noises generated by that as a material, constructing new sentences as poems.

It’s made me think of the words being things that can be passed around, maybe I use my own speakers and try shifting the sounds between the 4 of them so that it is moving around the space.
